Created in 1966, from the merger of 11 companies, CESP records in its history pioneering initiatives in plant construction technology and the recovery and preservation of the environment. Currently, after having the controlling interest acquired by Votorantim Energia and the Canadian pension fund CPPIB, in December 2018, it is controlled by the joint venture VTRM. CESP operates three hydroelectric plants located in the Southeast region.
