The service provided by NS rail is average. I have used their trains a few times and while they are generally on time, the comfort level leaves much to be desired. The seats are not very comfortable and the air conditioning is often too cold or not functioning properly. Additionally, the staff can be quite unfriendly at times. Overall, NS rail is an okay option for travel, but there is definitely room for improvement.
